Coaching4Change Reduces Data Silos and Improves Efficiency with Nonprofit Cloud

Coaching4Change (C4C) empowers College Mentors to partner with under-resourced schools to deliver high-impact programming to K-12 students. Through their paid internship program, C4C trains talented, diverse college students to serve as mentors, providing both academic and social-emotional support to the students they serve.

Implementing Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud

C4C needed a flexible, customizable database that would support their programs and that could be expanded upon in the future as the organization continues to grow. Goals of the implementation included reducing siloed systems and manual data processes, and improved access to data and reports for better data transparency, insights and access to guide strategic decision making. 

Keeping everyone (staff, College Mentors, and school partners) on the same page was tough, especially as we were expanding rapidly, both internally and within our programming. We were juggling spreadsheets, emails, and different tools that didn’t talk to each other. As our team grew and we partnered with more schools, managing data, tracking engagement, and keeping communication streamlined became even harder.

After performing a thorough Discovery and review of their current CRM technology, North Peak determined that Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud was the best solution to meet C4C’s program management needs.

In addition to better management of their programs and improved data tracking, C4C also wanted a portal where program coaches and mentors could login to access C4C resources and update attendance records.

To meet this need North Peak recommended an Experience Cloud site connected to the NPC system. Highlights of the Experience Cloud portal include: pages that are easy to create and customize, ability to submit and update timesheets and work logs, and ability to create unique user logins and customize what information users can view and access via customizable permission and security settings.

Outcomes of Implementing Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud

Now that the new CRM and Portal are up and running, C4C is enjoying the benefits of their investment in the new systems. With the reduction in time consuming manual processes, staff now have more time to devote to other aspects of their work. 

The reduction in data silos has ensured that communication and reporting is more streamlined and reliable, and the portal is a one-stop-shop where college mentors and school partners can easily login and access the information they need to be successful in their roles.

The portal has eliminated confusion and saved time, replacing the hassle of tracking down emails and searching through siloed documents. Countless school staff and College Mentors have shared how much they appreciate these improvements.

Utilizing North Peak’s Salesforce Managed Admin Services

One of the risks that North Peak identified during the Discovery phase of the project was that C4C did not have a dedicated Salesforce Admin on staff. That issue has been addressed with C4C’s engagement with North Peak’s Managed Admin Services.

We continue to utilize North Peak’s managed admin services while our team learns and builds its expertise in Salesforce. The service provides ongoing support as we maintain, optimize, and scale our CRM, ensuring it evolves with our needs. North Peak also continues to help us make enhancements, so our system stays efficient and aligned with our growth.
